Pantone was introduced in 1963 and started with a 500 color Pantone Matching System. They have since grown into the foremost authority of color consulting in both the digital and designer industry. They are responsible for creating and mixing colors like “1837 Blue,” the iconic color of Tiffany & Company and introduced the Color of the Year in 1999 with the always memorable color “Cerulean.”

The Barton Mines are in the hamlet of North River in the Gore Mountain region. These mines hold some of the largest crystal formations of this deep rich burgundy treasure. The garnets from theses mines are used mainly for industrial purposes due to garnet’s natural hardness but can occasionally produce that gem quality size and sparkle we all love.
